Future networks: questions and ideas
The SISCom Bretagne Research Cluster in Information and Communication Sciences for new telecommunications services is honored to announce the first edition of the school on Networks and Telecommunications with a specific focus on the Internet of the Future.
The Internet is recognized today to be present in everyday life and in all domains like education, health, defence, commerce, travel, entertainment... However, it is generally agreed that it was not designed for such a high level of usage, and there is a need for new and simpler but more powerful constructs to allow the network to behave better in terms of security, mobility, quality of service, energy consumption, utilisation and interoperation of new technologies.
The school aims to clarify the vision on the futur networks, through the views of academic and industrial experts. We have the pleasure to propose keynote talks from the following high-qualified speakers:
In addition, we will have invited presentations covering many areas related to the future of networking in general and of the Internet in particular. The program includes visits to industry R&D labs located at the Rennes Atalante area.
The School is open to graduate students (M.S., PhD), post doctoral scientists, researchers, and engineers in industry. It will be hosted by INRIA Rennes – Bretagne Atlantique, IRISA and IFSIC (University of Rennes 1), at the Campus of Beaulieu.
The 1st SISCom-Bretagne research school on Networks and Telecommunications was sponsored by the European Network of Excellence Euro-NF.
